OBJECTIVE

The objective of tennis top 10© is to diffuse:
a) Articles with statistical information on professional tennis players from the ATP (Association of Tennis Professionals) and WTA(Women's Tennis Association) for the current and previous seasons (since 2012).
b) Articles on specific players from the ATP and WTA.
c) Articles promoting the season's tournaments, their history, their champions, etc.
d) Articles promoting the tourism in the cities where the tournaments of the professional tennis calendar are held.
e) Special statistical articles on the Grand Slams, ATP Masters 1000 or WTA 1000, which are the highest category tournaments on the Tour, both for women and men.


The statistical articles are based on the General Performance Index© (GPI)1. tennis top 10© has its own exclusive index that calculates the performance of a tennis player over a given period of time. This index is called the General Performance Index© (GPI) and is used to create a ranking of player performance called the GPI Ranking© (GPI is sorted from highest to lowest and a ranking of player performance is established). For this purpose, databases2 of ATP and WTA players statistics encompasses several years are available.




1This index is not directly displayed in the tables of articles that are published on the Internet. This index or GPI is used to determine a General Performance Index Ranking© or GPI Ranking© where tennis players are ranked by performance. The higher the General Performance Index© (GPI), the better the General Performance Ranking© or GPI Ranking©.

2The men's database has around 40,000 matches and the women's database has around 35,000 matches to October 2024. Statistics can be accessed quickly, easily and gradually from the general statistics for each player.

Note: Points b), c) and d) are only produced at the request of interested sponsors. They are reports that are not currently produced with regularity. The articles in points a) and e) are produced regularly during the season and can be viewed in the “Articles” section of the website menu, presented chronologically since the 2012 season.
